Taylor West

Taylor West is a multi-family low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) project developed as part of the Robert R. Taylor Homes site in Wilmington, NC. Located on 4.5 acres, the project includes 48 residential units and a community building. To provide continuity, project design elements reflect the Craftsman style detailing of the surrounding homes. Unit types consist of 2 and 3 bedroom townhouses and 2, 3, and 4 bedroom stacked apartments. The project was designed and built per LEED for Homes (LEED-H) standards and was awarded Gold and Platinum ratings. Sustainable strategies include: Energy Star V2 specifications, low flow plumbing fixtures, spray foam insulation, sealed attics, finger-jointed studs, fly ash concrete and rainwater capture.
