The Pointe at Taylor Estates

The Pointe at Taylor Estates is a forty eight unit affordable housing development for families. The three building complex includes two, two-story walk-up residential structures and a shared community building. Each residential building houses 24 units. The buildings are sited to hold the corner of the block and to reinforce the street edge. Parking is organized to the interior of the site to maximize green space and to minimize the impact on large specimen trees. The scale of the large facility is lessened through the use of various architectural elements such as gable roofs, balconies and patios. These elements reflect the character and scale of the historic homes in the adjacent neighborhood. Primary financing was provided through the NCHFA Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program.
